“After the Well Training, I’ve been trying to serve and reach 2nd-generation Filipinos who would never really fit in churches. I help serve at a youth group in Doonside and Granville, and it has been great.

“The Well has taught me that reaching people is modelled in Jesus coming to us as a human. He became like us, moved into our neighbourhood, and spoke like us. I try to live life and walk alongside my community as much as I can, and love them, and invite them to follow Jesus, just like Jesus lived his life with his 12 friends and invited them to follow him.“

My current ministry is centred at Liverpool South Anglican Church, Lurnea, where I serve as a chaplain (Anglicare) with a strong focus on engaging marginalised communities and people from diverse cultural backgrounds in Southwest Sydney. This ministry context is both challenging and deeply rewarding, as it involves building trust, offering pastoral care, and sharing the hope of the gospel across cultural and social boundaries.

My training at The Well has been foundational in shaping who I am in ministry today. It equipped me theologically with a clear and grounded understanding of God’s Word, while also forming my heart for mission. Through this training, I was prepared not just to teach but to intentionally invite people into God’s kingdom with confidence, compassion, and cultural sensitivity.

The Well has enabled me to step into chaplaincy with both conviction and humility. It has given me the tools to serve among the marginalised faithfully, navigate cross-cultural ministry, and communicate the gospel in a way that is both relevant and transformative. I am deeply grateful for how this training continues to shape and strengthen my ministry today.

Six times a year, we offer courses which run as a 3-day intensive on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday, followed by 4 weeks of Zoom sessions, one evening a week. These courses cover the theology of ministry, understanding the complex systems in communities, how to study, and research communities, practical work and the core of relational ministry in marginalised communities.

The courses are taught by long-term practitioners, include both classroom and field study and involve a wide range of people taking them. We offer these courses for minimal costs.

We also offer more comprehensive training ranging from additional study to receive a diploma to full internships, and our courses may be accepted as part of further study in your field or profession.
